Marathon Valencia Trinidad Alfonso Zurich, through the organizing body Correcaminos, reopens its support programme Comparte Maratón Valencia-Clubes to reinforce athletics schools across the province. The 2026 edition will allocate up to €25,000 among the three highest-scoring clubs to strengthen youth categories and cover coaching, equipment or travel costs. Applications open 25 March and close at 14:00 on 9 April, with guidelines published on the race website. The initiative is financed from the broader Comparte Maratón Valencia fund, which totals near €1 million for 2026, and aims to expand resources for promotion categories in Valencia. Organisers stress the aid targets sustainability and direct support for vulnerable young athletes.
Funding details and eligibility
Funds will be split as €12,000, €8,000 and €5,000 for the top three clubs, selected by score. The programme prioritises federated clubs that develop promotion categories such as sub12, sub14, sub16, sub18 and sub20, aiming to improve human and technical resources. The budget comes directly from the marathon’s comparative social fund. Juan Manuel Botella, director general of the marathon, highlighted that modest grants can determine whether a club hires a coach, buys equipment or funds competition travel. Previous winners are ineligible this year, ensuring new schools benefit from the 2026 awards.
Past winners and impact
In the first edition, CA Sprint Moncada won €12,000, CA Torrent €8,000, and both CA Quart de Poblet and CA Poblats Marítims received €5,000 each after an exceptional tie. Organisers report the support helped maintain programmes and increase competition participation among young athletes across Valencia.
Clubs interested in applying should consult the criteria and submit before 14:00 on 9 April via the Marathon Valencia website. Apply now to secure support for your youth teams.
