The organisers of the long-distance events in Valencia, backed again by Grupo Vithas, have opened volunteer registrations for the 2026 editions. The races are scheduled for 25 October (half) and 6 December (full), and the campaign seeks 4,400 helpers across event weeks to support operations on course and in logistics. Volunteers will be assigned shifts according to availability and can sign up for multiple days. The programme welcomes participants of all ages—under-16s must attend with an adult—and offers a dedicated volunteer kit to identify staff on race day.
Registration, capacity and eligibility
Organisers have published 4,400 volunteer places: 2,700 for the marathon and 1,700 for the half marathon. Interested people should register through the events’ official volunteer pages and indicate their role preferences and available days on the form. Shifts are flexible and can be chosen according to candidate schedules.
All volunteers receive an official pack and are identified as #VoluntariosVithas. Minors may participate only when accompanied by an adult. The application procedure is open now for the 2026 races.
Roles, rewards and recognition
Volunteer duties include bib distribution, handing out water and isotonic drinks at feed stations, providing information and assistance to runners, and managing baggage areas. A new reward for circuit volunteers recognizes long-term commitment: those serving in street-control roles across four editions of either event will gain the right to buy a race bib at the lowest price, bypassing the standard draw. Víctor Marí, head of volunteering, praised the expanded campaign and invited the volunteer community to join the events.
