The Valencia Marathon Trinidad Alfonso Zurich organization has announced a special measure for runners affected by the DANA in the province of Valencia. Affected runners are receiving an email allowing them to request the cancellation of their registration and receive a full refund if requested before November 24.

The statement also expresses support and solidarity with those affected, recognizing that many may not feel up to running this year. However, those who wish to continue participating in the event, either as a form of personal resilience or in memory of the victims, also have the option to confirm their registration and proceed with their participation.

For those who decide not to run in this edition, the organization will allow them to register for the 2025 Marathon during a preferential period before opening registration to the general public. The refund will be complete, except for the €3 donation to Unoentrecienmil, if previously selected.

Official Statement from the Valencia Marathon

Hello!

First of all, we want to express our affection and solidarity with all those who have been affected by the disaster that has struck our province and especially your town.

The Valencia Marathon Trinidad Alfonso Zurich organization has been working since day one with the utmost discretion to help those affected by the DANA. Now, we must also focus on you, the runners. We understand what you are going through personally, either directly or through family, neighbors, and friends.

That’s why we want to focus specifically on participants, like you, who live in the affected municipalities. You may not feel up to continuing to run right now, and if that’s the case, we want to offer you the option of canceling your registration for the Valencia Marathon and recovering the full amount of your entry fee.

It may also be that you still want to run because perhaps, for you, it’s the best way to partially recover from the pain and remember the victims or affected people. If that’s the case, we ask that you also confirm with us, and we look forward to seeing you at the finish line.

A big hug and lots of encouragement in any case.

Confirm your DECISION regarding your REGISTRATION HERE (*) *Deadline for requesting a refund: November 24.

Whatever you decide, you will be able to register for the 2025 Marathon within the preferential period that we will keep open for runners in this edition before opening registration to the general public.

This gesture of empathy and solidarity demonstrates the Valencia Marathon’s commitment to its participants and its support during these challenging times for the community.
